Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule
Full-time position with the General Services Department, IT Division located at 1111 Locust Street
Salary Range: $5,794-$8,833/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. *Telework schedule available after 6-month probationary period completed.

Responsibilities
Handles technical maintenance and administration of the City’s various critical enterprise systems, physical servers, operating systems, storage systems, operating systems security, that house the critical City applications of Payroll, Budgeting, Public Safety, GIS as well as others.
Handles complex technical assignments, overnight hours for maintenance changes, and changes in technology programs that will enhance the city’s use of technology tools designed to improve efficiency.
Installs, maintains/supports, and administers multiple physical and virtual servers and their supporting infrastructure at both the Primary and Disaster Recovery Data Centers.
Supports and administers Microsoft Active Directory services for City user accounts.
Manages and maintains systems security and patching systems to ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements along with best practices.
Implements, updates, administers, and supports the critical integrated data and file storage systems deployed throughout the city.
Participates in citywide initiatives and projects as a subject matter expert (SME) or as a technical team resource led to ensure new IT related projects are architected to meet maximum efficiency and productivity goals.
Performs sophisticated problem solving and troubleshooting to include analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex server, storage, and infrastructure related issues.
Collaborates with internal/external technical and engineering resources to ensure efficient operation of the City’s server and storage environments.
Acts as primary resource to manage and maintain the City’s Enterprise backup systems and sites.
Manages all technical resources required to support this complex environment.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of technology experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and technology experience.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri’s city limits within nine months.
