Salary Range: $55,000 – $67,000

The Mayor’s Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (MOEDI) works to identify and develop systems & behavioral change solutions that advance equitable outcomes to Move Atlanta Forward.

Job Overview

MOEDI seeks an equity-focused leader who valuespeople and relationships. This new team member will serve as the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Community Affairs Coordinator (Coordinator). This Coordinator supports the engagement of communities, MOEDI events, development and implementation of a social media strategy and communications support for the Office.

As the Coordinator, you will support the office’s existing portfolio, new projects, and the Mayor’s priority initiatives. The Coordinator will amplify and advance equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives from across the City. The Coordinator will work with MOEDI staff on programs, events, communication campaigns and social media. The Coordinator will engage as a community advocate by meeting with residents; identifying critical concerns, issues and needs; and offering proposed recommendations and solutions to MOEDI leadership.

Support the identification, coordination and implementation of equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in partnership with MOEDI leadership team. The strategies and initiatives implemented will focus on promoting the principles of ED&I and measuring the impact of the City’s ED&I community efforts.
Support the implementation of measures that break down barriers to creating a more inclusive community for all city residents.
Champion equity, diversity, and inclusion in all activities, programs, events, and social media.
Support the development, coordination, and advancement of MMOEDI’s community engagement strategy in partnership with community stakeholders, and other City staff.
Establish relationships and collaborate with culturally diverse organizations including non-profits, educational/training institutions, small businesses, and individuals interested in volunteering or partnering with the City or broader community on EDI issues.
Collaborate with community partners and establish relationships with communities to serve as a resource and advocate.
Lead the design and implementation of social media, programs, and special events in the community. Ensure community programs and events are diverse, inclusive and address the needs of the residents.
Evaluate all activities, programs, and events by conducting community feedback surveys at their conclusion. Incorporate lessons learned in future activities, programs, events, and social media.
Ensure approved funding has been obtained in advance of all internal and external engagements.
Ensure all community engagement is thoughtfully planned and executed and incorporates goals and objectives approved by MOEDI leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or higher and/orprofessional experience of 2+ years in a similar role.
Strong proficiency and use of technology including Microsoft Office Suite, social media and other community engagement and communication platforms.
A commitment to learning about and advancing equity,diversity and inclusion.
Preferred Education

3+ years of community engagement, DEI, nonprofit/philanthropic, government or other related experience
