Summary:
Under limited supervision, the Compensation Specialist administers assigned aspects of UPHS compensation programs in accordance with UPHS policies and practices. Role is responsible for analyzing all relevant information on exempt and non-exempt positions including job descriptions, market data, job evaluations, and organizational charts. Recommends appropriate job classification and level of compensation. Processes wage and salary changes as per procedures developed by Compensation, HRIS and Payroll. Handles most issues and problems and refers the more complex issues to more senior compensation staff.
*This position is remote with occasional in office meetings based out of 3600 Civic Center Blvd.
Responsibilities:
Analyzes all relevant information on exempt and non-exempt positions including job descriptions, market data, job evaluations, eligibility for participation in various compensation programs and organizational charts. Recommends the appropriate job classification and level of compensation. Delivers salary offers in a timely manner that are consistent with UPHS policies and practices, balance internal and external equity and are compliant with Federal Wage and Hur Laws, The Equal Pay Act, and their regulatory guidelines. Effectively communicates with these requesting compensation services, the UPHS policies and practices, internal and external equity considerations and relevant regulatory guidelines. Incumbents are n-site at assigned locations during assigned schedules in order to actively engage with HR colleagues and hospital/practice management. Reviews requested personnel actins for compliance with UPHS policies and practices. Processes wage and salary changes resulting from promotions or their job changes, r market adjustments, and payments associated shift differentials and their compensation programs. Works with HR colleagues and hospital/practice managers t document process issues, make recommendations and implement corrections, as appropriate. Assists with salary survey participation, market pricing analysis and special projects requiring large data base management and analysis.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
Prefer program of study that emphasized quantitative analysis or data management. 2+ years Compensation experience
