About the Role
As Finance partner for the Uber Platform Engineering team, you will be a strategic, financial and operational thought partner to the team. You will play an integral part in driving and supporting financial planning, building dynamic, detailed, scalable financial models to validate investments in infrastructure as the company continues to grow. You will work closely with your business partners to make strategic decisions driving our technologies forward. What You’ll Do
Business partnering – Work closely with Plat Eng Tech teams to develop financial forecasts and key performance indicators, apply business judgment and financial insights to assist with decision making that aligns capital and resource allocation with the company’s strategic priorities
Scale and transition from startup to mature team – We need the best people on board to help us refine our planning processes, and ensure standard finance methodologies and accountability are spread throughout the organization
Sophisticated financial modeling – Build models from scratch, improve existing models, break complex models down into components that consolidate – you can do it all
Monthly close – Analyze variances between actuals, forecast, and plan – use insights to iterate on forecasts and create/discuss potential action plans with cross-functional teams
Finance related partners – Develop long lasting partnerships across Strategic Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Financial Operations Teams to guarantee correct allocations and provide inputs to enhance finance overall processes
Special projects / ad hoc analyses – New initiatives, products, risks and opportunities are constantly arising. You will help evaluate and drive these important initiatives.
Innovate – We will push the boundaries beyond traditional forecasting. Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new skills
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, Accounting
1.5+ years in Corporate Finance, FP&A, Corporate Development / Strategy, Consulting or other related areas
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in handling spending on at least one (ideally multiple) of the major Public Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
At least 1 years of experience in cloud infrastructure finance
Experience fostering cross functional relationships with key areas of the business (engineering, sourcing, and accounting)
Willingness and ability to adapt to the rapid business and organizational changes that accompany a high-growth environment
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $96,500 per year – $107,250 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $96,500 per year – $107,250 per year.
