Job Description
Position Summary
The Assistant Director, Communications will lead the schools efforts around the following: full-scale content creation (graphic design, storytelling, reports, news stories,other written pieces, videos, photos) for the school to be used on multiple platforms, including web, email, and social media channels; managing all social media channels and accounts; managing the content and tagging of Wagner’s website; design and creation of print and digital collateral for Wagner’s internal departments and units; design and creation of non-admissions/recruitment digital communications; developing and maintaining metrics to measure the success of marketing and communications efforts; and managing student workers and collaborating with NYU Wagner departments and staff.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience:
Minimum 5 years communications, digital communications, marketing and/or public relations or equivalent combination. Must include experience in creating and managing content in digital space including website, social media, multimedia content, and other online platforms. At least two years of graphic design experience required using Adobe Creative Suite, specifically in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Preferred Experience:
Related experience at a college, university, or nonprofit organization is preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent verbal, writing, and project planning skills. Ability to work collaboratively across organizational lines. Thorough knowledge of digital communications and design, and experience using multiple forms of new media and technologies. Excellent graphic design skills in both print and online channels using Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of online communications production process, including basic knowledge of HTML and web content management systems. Experience in measuring and monitoring digital marketing and how these analytics can be applied to marketing and communications strategies.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency in video, audio, digital photograph processes, and editing software. Familiarity with iMovie and/or Final Cut Pro. Proficiency in Google Analytics.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $72,657.00 to USD $88,803.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
