Responsibilities

Amy F. Loperfido & Associates, Insurance Staff Counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies, is seeking a Litigation Legal Secretary for the Philadelphia, PA office. Duties include but are not limited to assisting and partnering with Attorney’s, scheduling depositions, maintaining the integrity of the litigation files in our case management system, scanning documents and interacting with clients and outside counsel. The ideal candidate should possess a strong work ethic, team spirit, knowledge and ability to prepare legal documents and strong understanding of the court system. The selected individual will be considered a hybrid employee, spending required time in the office with some optional opportunities to work in a virtual environment at times. Work arrangements are subject to change over time based on business needs. Work hours are Monday- Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm.
Qualifications

  • 1+ years of litigation legal secretary experience is preferred
  • Insurance defense experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in software technology, tools, and case management software
  • Experience in E-Filing with court system
  • Knowledge of legal and medical terminology, local and state rules regarding pleadings and pre-trial matters, deadlines, and filing requirements
  • Ability to adapt to a corporate law environment
