Job Summary :

Essential Functions :
EXECUTION : Monitor the quality of roasted coffee to ensure it’s meeting targets for flavor and consistency. Lead and educate Roasting and QC teams to develop talent in the areas of cupping, editing roast profiles and creating new blends. Develop key metrics to ensure high quality of both hot and cold coffee. Collaborate with manufacturing, cafe, marketing and sales teams to ensure all objectives are met. Stay abreast of coffee production, sourcing and buying innovations. Regularly attend expos and networking events as required. Contribute to the positive morale of the roasting department. Follow all safety procedures. Maintain all food handling and warehouse organization standards to ensure a safe, clean and organized working environment. Monitor, analyze and report KPIs to leadership as required.
STANDARDS & SYSTEMS : Ensure consistent execution and compliance through operational standards for safety, quality and productivity. Follow good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all La Colombe, regulatory, SQF, FISMA, FDA, OSHA requirements. Continuously seek to improve processes. Develop strategies focused on accident reduction as well as energy and waste minimization.
BUSINESS LEADERSHIP Plays a key role in green bean cost of goods and budget implications. Participates in strategic long-term planning. Proactively communicates La Colombe news, expectations and goals throughout the company, especially to each roasting facility. Develops and communicates business results to the leadership team on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Engages in planning to meet both the company’s mid and long term goals related to production capacity and production support.

Job Requirements :
7+ years related coffee experience
5+ years managing teams.
High attention to detail, even under urgent or high-pressure circumstances.
Passion for our mission, that by making people happy with coffee, we can create a better world.
An entrepreneurial spirit and be successful in a fast-paced, agile, innovative, and collaborative environment.
Significant experience in green coffee evaluation, inventory management, leading teams, and building relationships.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, push or pull for virtually the entire shift.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and manually stack and move cases up to 6-8 cases high.
Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays and participate in on- call rotation.

Cell Phone and Internet Allowance: $75 monthly allowance
