Job Description

Job Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, New York. Independently design, develop, test, and document highly reliable client and server-side systems in a structured, disciplined, and fast-moving environment using Java, Python, C++, Perl, Unix scripting, Javascript, SQL, Messaging technologies (including TIBCO or Kafka), NoSQL and MemSQL. Utilize financial knowledge in equities, derivatives, fx, interest rates, credit default swaps and software skills to lead discussions with business users, including operations analysts, traders, and sales representatives, to understand business requirements, translate business requirements into technical solutions and manage the change lifecycle of these requests. Drive development within a controlled process including performing design and code reviews. Independently analyze data for continuous improvement and increased scalability and capacity of the infrastructure. Oversee the support of the production environment, review the diagnosis and resolution of incidents, and maintain the stability and integrity of systems. Mentor, instruct, train, and provide technical guidance to more junior members of the team. Mentor professionals as part of ongoing projects, such as managing deliverables, assigning tasks, and ensuring that tasks are completed within set deadlines.

Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field like a relevant Engineering discipline, such as Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering, and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field like a relevant Engineering discipline, such as Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering, and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior work experience must include three (3) years of experience with a Master’s degree or five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree with: developing applications using one or more procedural and object-oriented technologies including Java, C++, or Python; building applications in a commercial environment including developing web API frameworks using REST, XML or JSON; and working within the full project software development lifecycle, including translating business requirements into technical design, interacting with end users and keeping senior management updated, and leveraging SDLC version control systems including GitLab or SVN. Prior experience must include one (1) year with: building responsive web applications using Javascript technologies such as AngularJS or ReactJS; developing using Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), designing data storage models, and developing complex queries using SQL to interact with data models and develop tools; analyzing patterns and trends in underlying datasets; testing, including writing integration and unit tests in Junit; and supporting the production environment, assisting in the diagnosis and resolution of incidents, and maintaining the stability and integrity of systems.

Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $170,000 – $250,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
