Job Description
Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co LLC in New York, New York. Build new and maintain existing enterprise applications and consumer products used globally by using the various frontend (such as React or HTML CSS), backend (such as Java, Spring or Hibernate) and database (such as MySQL or Mongo) technologies. Work across all phases of the software development cycle including requirements analysis, design, coding, building, testing, maintenance, and deployment of commercial scale software changes. Participate in technical design and development for both business-driven and infrastructure projects with minimal supervision. Engage with support teams to troubleshoot and solve production issue affecting applications. Analyze new tools and technologies for proof of concepts and provide recommendations. Collaborate with globally located cross functional teams in building customer-centric retail consumer banking products or supporting services. Build trusted partnerships with product managers, vendors, and external partners.
Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in a related position OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related position. Prior experience must include one (1) year with a Master’s OR three (3) years with Bachelor’s with the following: building scalable REST APIs in Java to support high-volume requests; using multi-tiered web applications, including application architectures and application integration; implementing design patterns utilizing SOA and micro-services; programming technologies including Java, Spring, Hibernate, RabbitMQ or Kafka; UI technologies including React, HTML, Javascript or CSS; open-source frameworks and API’s including Dropwizard, Log4J, Mockito, or Junit; relational and NoSQL database technologies including Sybase or MongoDB; utilizing source control management systems including Subversion or Gitlab; working through the software development lifecycle; and implementing Test driven development and performing testing to build reliable and resilient applications.
Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $170,000 – $180,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
