Job Description
Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Quantitative engineering role responsible for developing regulatory capital models and provide data-driven insights in support of the Firm’s businesses. Develop and improve regulatory capital models and calculations, including for both BAU (business as usual) and CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review) use cases. Maintain awareness of regulatory literature, interpret regulatory requirements and come up with calculation specifications. Design calculation process flow and calculation algorithms, develop software implementing the calculation, analyze the results of the calculation, provide insight from the results and provide recommendations for optimal usage of capital to the firm. Design and document regulatory capital models and test model assumptions, work with internal reviewing teams, and provide ongoing maintenance and support.
Job Requirements: Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Financial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, Information Systems/Engineering, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role or Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Financial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, Information Systems/Engineering, or a related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have two (2) years of experience with a Master’s degree or four (4) years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree with: documenting and performing quality control for financial models; maintaining business relationships and explaining complicated models to diverse audiences; working with calculus and linear algebra, including applications to optimization theory; performing object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithm optimization; using SQL within a Unix or Linux environment; writing large scale (millions of positions) commercial software for distributed computing and messaging and solving computational problems; utilizing scalable source control systems including one of the following: CVS (Concurrent Versions System), RCS (Revision Control System), or Perforce; and working with LaTeX software.
Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $159,000 – $180,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
