GE Gas Power is seeking a world class HR Leader who will be an integral part of our contemporary global Supply Chain HR team. The successful candidate will drive HR strategy and execution for a cross functional manufacturing operations business located in Bangor, Maine. As GE undergoes its worldwide Lean Transformation, this site HR leader partners with operating leaders to drive a Lean culture transformation as well as utilize Lean to drive process improvements in HR. S/he will be build a strong talent pipeline with diverse team members and be a partner at the table with operations and be trusted advisor for the executive site leader. This individual is responsible for developing and executing the human resources strategy across the site and partners with a global HR leadership team across the value stream.
In this role, the chosen candidate will support strategy, integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, be involved in long-term planning, and be an advocate for both professional and production employees. Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and guide the HR team at the Bangor, Maine facility
Provide strategic HR leadership for Bangor site as part of the Gas Turbine Value Stream
Align with the global HR team to deliver HR strategies in support of a diverse workforce
Ensure the culture and strategy of the Bangor site aligns with and contributes to the business-wide priorities, the Gas Power Purpose, and the GE Leadership Behaviors
Advise, coach, counsel, and provide candid feedback to Site Leader, staff, and People Leaders across the site
Work closely with the leadership team to develop a strategic workforce plan, building key skills and a pipeline for critical talent
Champion Lean methodologies to build organizational capabilities and maximize performance across the business and HR function
Align with and deploy a robust talent management strategy, relying on data and analytics to fulfill the organization’s business strategies
Drive an HR strategy that delivers business results while promoting employee advocacy
Facilitate communications throughout the organization and act as an employee advocate to ensure that all individuals receive fair and equitable treatment
Ensure that routine and complex employee relations issues are properly identified, reported, investigated, and resolved to drive and promote a work environment that is in compliance with GE’s Spirit & Letter compliance program
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a variety of Human Resource or related positions
Desired Characteristics
Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial / Labor Relations or Business Administration
Prior people leadership experience
Prior experience in Manufacturing or Operational environments
Demonstrated ability to provide coaching and share feedback across all levels of the organization
Strong problem-solving skills; ability to make independent decisions, manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated influencing and relationship building skills at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated experience developing & executing broad organizational strategies
Demonstrated ability to effectively link HR strategy to business strategy
Ability to energize and lead in complex, matrix, goal-driven organizations
Demonstrated ability to work in a demanding, high performance work environment and create a positive, team-oriented culture
Workforce analysis capabilities using dashboards, bowlers and data analytics to achieve business outcomes.
