The First Judicial District of Pennsylvania (“FJD”) is the Philadelphia County Court System and is composed of two courts: the Court of Common Pleas and the Municipal Court. The mission of the FJD is to adjudicate cases and provide services to the community within our jurisdiction while ensuring fair, timely, and accessible justice to the people of Philadelphia. The FJD is part of the Unified Judicial System reporting in to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
Job Description
This position provides basic and routine clerical support services within the Adult Probation and Parole Department. Duties may include, but are not limited to answering the telephone, greeting, and registering clients for office visits.
This is entry level clerical work performed under the supervision of the Probation Officer Supervisor. The work is easily learned but requires attention to detail and accurate documentation.

Essential Functions
The following duties are considered typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Greet and register clients reporting to the reception booths.
Retrieve information for client identification of Probation Officers and direct them accordingly.
Inform Officers of clients appearing for their office visit and maintain the client register roster.
Facilitate offender entry into the interview booths.
Receive and respond to inquiries regarding practices and procedures of the department.
Maintain order and monitor offender compliance in reception area.
Directs the public to appropriate departments and units based on simple inquiries.
Maintains inventory of office supplies for designated area.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Answers telephone and may greet the public.
Performs related work as required.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Standard office conditions.
Direct contact with diverse court clientele.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to speak and understand the English language and express job related information verbally and in writing to the general public.
Ability to use personal computers and applicable software.
Ability to operate standard office equipment including a telephone, fax machine, calculator, copier.
Ability to read, understand and interpret instructions and other operating procedures and communicate orally and in writing.
Ability to answer telephones and take messages courteously.
Ability to attend to details.
Ability to deal with people in a professional and efficient manner.

Work-Life
Working hours are 40 hours per week. This is a full-time, in person position with the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Experience in an office environment with at least 2 years of customer service is preferred.
After meeting minimum standards, successful completion of a panel review and interview process.
Successful completion of criminal background check.
Ability to perform the essential functions of a position in this class.
Covid-19 vaccination is recommended.

Salary Range: $30,028 – $31,990
