Salary Range: $42,745.56 – $59,512.54

General Description and Classification Standards

The purpose of the job is to support the Mayor’s Office Cultural Affairs (OCA) in the fulfillment of promotions associated with the Atlanta Jazz Festival, ELEVATE Public Art festival and other programs and events produced by the OCA, and overall office social media and e-marketing efforts, and other tasks, as assigned. This job requires adherence to policies and procedures established by the City of Atlanta and the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs.

Supervision Received

Works under general direct supervision, reporting to the Executive Director’s office.

Essential Duties

These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all- inclusive. This job will require flexibility and task management in accepting additional duties, as assigned.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

•Work closely with OCA upper management, program staff and consultants to compile content from staff for office social media posts and monthly e-newsletter.

•Use various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and other design software to create and prepare event materials, various publications, brochures, forms, reports, correspondence, narratives, proposals, and calendars; maintain and update website content. Basic knowledge of html/css a plus.

•Provide support for programs and events, as assigned.

•Completes daily, weekly, monthly, and/or annual reports as required.

•Provides varied and advanced level administrative and support services to the administrative team, as needed, to include, but not limited to: typing, filing, responding to constituent inquiries associated with events and programs, create and maintain databases as needed.

•Maintain organization and inventory of event paraphernalia and supplies when required

•Performs administrative tasks, as needed.

•This position will work closely with the Executive Assistant and program managers to implement social media initiatives to promote the OCA while creating a unified branding strategy for the promotion of the office and its programs.

•This position requires working knowledge of basic modes of social media promotion.

•May train and supervise assigned personnel when required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience

BS/BA from an accredited college or university in the arts, design, marketing, media, planning, arts administration, public/business administration or closely related field; 2+ years’ experience in social media content creation and analytics. Experience in promotions, event management, project management or related field is a plus.

•             Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

•             Oracle financial system experience preferred, but not required

•             May require work on some weekend, or evening hours
