Job Description
Salary Range: $51,100 – $63,000
The Office of Film and Entertainment is responsible for the following:
• Issuing permits to productions filming on public property in the City of Atlanta
• Facilitating communication between producers and city agencies
• Minimizing potential inconveniences to residents and local businesses affected by film productions.
• Supporting the provision of education and training opportunities in entertainment production.
• Partnering with the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office to market Atlanta as a leading center for film, culture, and entertainment
These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.
• Report directly to the Director.
• Support the Director and film department in daily administrative duties.
• Work closely with the production manager on the execution of film activations (panels, platforms, film festivals, etc.)
• Schedule meetings and takes notes at meetings for internal reference.
• Prepare monthly meeting reports, and any other reports or communications requested by the Director for film and operations.
• Maintain paper and electronic files and records regarding office projects and initiatives.
• Provide premier customer service and assistance to entertainment production companies, residents and businesses working and living in Atlanta.
• Execute communications-related goals for the office, including but not limited to website management (Set South and COA landing page for the office), internal & external communications, social media management for the film department and the Set South monthly newsletter.
• Attend NPU meetings as the film production office subject matter expert.
• Attend community engagement events through our set south platform as a representative of the film department.
• Develop relationships with major and mini-major studios, along with film companies based in Atlanta to partner with mutually beneficial endeavors.
• Forge dynamic creative relationships between the City’s film office and key film partners, including screenwriters, producers/production companies, buyers, filmmakers, actors, and below-the-line talent for programming activation.
• Assess and analyze program needs and report those needs to leadership and consultants.
• Oversee the marketing tools needed for film through appropriate channels.
• Work closely with the director and production manager in the creation and maintenance of location welcome packages, to include tracking new projects.
• Disseminate information to the public through technology and the communications media regarding the services, functions, and special activities of film); writes news, press, and publicity releases; designs, writes, and produces public information materials such as brochures and flyers using a variety of graphics, desktop publishing software, applications, and social media platforms to develop or modify materials.
• Gather information regarding upcoming meetings or events; and ensure that the AMOFEN office is well informed.
• Assist the Director with the preparation of agendas and staff reports and supporting documents for meeting and presentation purposes.
• Guide the development of various informational materials to promote and publicize programs, services, activities, and events, providing support with the effective presentation of program information, services, and activities, and assisting with media relations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Proficient in MS Office and possess good oral and written communications.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Must have knowledge of the film permitting process and assist with the permitting process when necessary or during high volume seasons.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills including excellent attention to detail.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply a variety of regulations, statutes, and instructions (film ordinance and GA local tax incentives)
• Technology and digital communications platforms (website, all social media platforms, other)

• Willingness to work weekends and/or be on-call periodically as necessary is required
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• Graduation from high school AND a minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative support experience.
• Familiarity with the film industry and local government operations and policies
Preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public administration or a related field is highly desirable.
