As a Barclays Payroll Tax Manager Assistant Vice President, you will be providing payroll tax expertise that provides a service that meets the current and future needs of our 13,000 US-based and 70 Canada-based colleagues that is compliant, accurate, timely, and resilient. The internal payroll team of 9 full-time employees is accountable for the delivery of the payroll processes across the Barclays Group, including payroll and related payments to Barclays colleagues, third party payments, benefits payments, and share plans.

Salary/ Rate Minimum: $85,000
Salary/ Rate Maximum: $140,000

What will you be doing?

• Processing end-to-end tax, payroll, and associated reconciliations for both US and Canada, including multi-state taxation, reciprocity, forms collections, etc
• Understanding the VISAs and its impact on social taxes (FICA)
• Preparing and presenting review of all tax account reconciliations as well as zero-balance account reviews to VP monthly and attest that balances are correct and documented
• Recording of timely payment of vendor invoices and tax payments outside of vendor accountability
• Researching/correcting any outstanding items with payroll tax accounts with Federal, State, and Local tax agencies
• Working with 3rd party vendors with research and assisting with corrections related to employment tax accounts
• Leading as the accountable party for annual forms W-2 reconciliations and preparation
• Acting as an engagement point for US/Canada Payroll Tax function into the Reward and Compensation team, Finance, Group Tax, Chief Controls Office, Audit, and wider HR Ops

What we’re looking for:

• Four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Several years of experience working within an HR Operations/Tax Function for a large organization of over 5000 employees
• Experience of tools and technology related to Tax and HR and solid grasp of payroll tax and related general ledger accounting principles, including IRS requirements
• Knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and/or other payroll tax systems

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Ability to operate and maintain payroll tax information in SAP, Workday, and/or vendor systems like ADP Enterprise
• Track record of delivering colleague-focused service delivering great customer outcomes

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 32-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
