Job Description

As a Barclays Desk Analyst, you’ll be part of the Fixed Income Financing team, shadowing traders to relay market conditions/demand/color, working to enhance pricing methodologies for various STIR products, identifying optimization opportunities and streamlining business processes. This is a structuring-based role requiring solid analytical, problem solving, and communication skills. The types and complexity of the problems will be motivated by changes in regulations and/or accounting rules, operational constraints, or legal jurisdiction.

Salary / Rate Minimum: $125,000
Salary / Rate Maximum: $170,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

What will you be doing?

•    Designing, maintaining, and enhancing existing trading tools, data warehouse, and applications
•    Researching patterns/trends in time series data and assist in developing and tuning pricing models for various STIR products
•    Driving new initiatives from idea generation to delivering prototype models
•    Supporting desk’s daily operations and explore optimization opportunities
•    Developing platform and analytics to improve trading efficiency and work with internal IT and analytics teams to improve risk management systems and trading workflow
•    Collaborating with external clients and internal partners such as sales and trading colleagues

What we’re looking for:

•    Solid analytical and technical skills in building analytical tools to generate insight, recognize patterns and predict behavior
•    Experience in coding with one or more of the following: Python, C++, SQL, VBA
•    Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
•    Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Solid understanding of finance, economics, and markets
•    Reliable and trusted team player; ability to work with people of all levels
•    Experience with portfolio optimization and data science is a plus

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 32-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
