Job Description
Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Research and make stock recommendations on U.S. listed consumer Internet companies. Present buy, sell and neutral ideas to institutional clients (mutual funds, pension funds, hedge funds) and the firm’s internal sales and trading as well as write research memos and conduct pre-deal investor education for initial public offerings of new issues for approximately 50 stocks under the team’s coverage. Research and analyze financial statements and regulatory filings for companies under coverage (and their global competitors) and stay current with economic and geopolitical developments to make effective recommendations on stocks. Maintain detailed Microsoft excel models to project financials of companies under coverage. Write research reports of varying size (from 1 to about 200 pages) on stock ideas, industry trends, and macroeconomic developments, utilizing proprietary software and subscriptions such as SensorTower, Similar Web, eMarketer to supplement internal research. Communicate with institutional clients and firm’s internal sales and trading regarding the team’s research and market developments. Utilize knowledge of market data tools like Bloomberg, FactSet and Reuters Eikon for macroeconomic and industry information.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Liberal Arts, Finance, Economics, or a related analytical field such as Computer Engineering and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a related role. Two (2) years of prior experience must include: utilizing accounting and finance principles to forecast financials (earnings, cash flows) and value equity through various methodologies; performing financial modeling and analyzing public company filings and financial statements; using financial databases including FactSet, Thomson Reuters and Bloomberg; utilizing Excel to prepare advanced analysis of financial models, and Word and PowerPoint to prepare investment research reports on companies and industries; analyzing initial public offering (IPOs), equity and debt raises, and spin-offs splits; and communicating investment recommendations to stakeholders. Must be able to obtain FINRA Series 7, 63, 87, and 86 (unless exempted pursuant to FINRA rule 1220(b)(6)(B)) licenses within four months of begin hired. Travel required 5-10% of time. Primarily domestic travel, and some international travel, required for marketing and industry conferences. All travel costs reimbursed by the Firm.
Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $208,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
