POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Assistant Manager of AML Compliance will support the overall efforts of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Team, providing guidance to AML Compliance Specialists in daily objectives. The Assistant Manager will also collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify and design high quality AML auditing tools and practices while adhering to industry best practices, business needs, and regulatory objectives. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary: 

  • Ability to assist with the oversight and performance of complex audits and identify patterns of suspicious activity using Excel and other business intelligence tools in accordance with established audit procedures
  • Operate in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements
  • Carry out the planning and execution of AML audits within the context of the casino’s risk tolerance
  • Perform and support audits in the areas of finance, risk management, operations, and gaming activities
  • Provide supervision and remedial action to Compliance Specialists to ensure accurate and timely completion of daily duties
  • Follow-up and perform validation of remediation activities to ensure control issues are effectively resolved
  • Stay abreast of laws, rules and regulations impacting financial institutions in an effort to mitigate regulatory risks and implement sound BSA/AML & OFAC framework
  • Report audit findings and make recommendations for correcting unsatisfactory conditions, improving operations and reducing costs
  • Oversee and support recommendations to escalate potential unusual activity to Compliance Investigators 
  • Provide guidance and respond to daily inquiries from peers, front-line, and management regarding audit or case analysis as needed
  • Ensure player personal information and gaming activity meets the requirements of the AML Program 
  • Review and perform Title 31 filings as assigned
  • Conduct comprehensive review of systems
  • Assist with analytical and comprehensive research
  • Assist with Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) investigations
  • Assist with the design, implementation, and completion of daily audit procedures designed to detect and deter money laundering
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner
  • Maintain effective working relationships
  • Perform special reviews or projects if necessary
  • Attend BSA/AML training seminars as assigned 
  • Assist with other matters and projects as directed by the Director, AML Compliance 
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four (4) years of experience AML Compliance for a large-scale luxury resort/casino or relative financial institution
  • Two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or management role for a large-scale luxury resort/casino or relative financial institution
  • Ability to provide constructive and corrective feedback to optimize Member performance 
  • Experience developing audit spreadsheets and using complex reporting tools 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience in facilitating and presenting information in one-on-one, small, and large group situations 
  • Ability to work independently and in small groups without direct supervision
  • Intermediate understanding of how to organize and query data 
  • Relational database, advanced internet searching, Cognos, LexisNexis, AML, and gaming software experience preferred 
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with Members, management, and internal and external (e.g., examiners and vendors) guests 
  • Excellent organizational skills; be able to function under time constraints and deadlines with attention to detail 
  • Ability to organize, summarize and succinctly communicate the relevancy of findings to management 
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, ability to prioritize and efficiently perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, managing multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines
  • Ability to analyze data, trends and apply judgment to various situations 
  • Ability to process confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Must be willing and able to occasionally work a flexible schedule to include weekends

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This position supervises others within the Compliance department.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required. 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

$70000 per year – $85000 per year
