Prime Air is seeking an experienced Site Lead who will act as the GM for Prime Air Commercial Operations Center: In that capacity, they will manage all aspects of the commercial ops, including our fulfillment center (outbound/ inbound), drone maintenance and spare parts, and flight operations. They will act as the senior leader on site, and have direct responsibility over managers and employees on site. They will partner with Prime Air customer-facing teams (Customer Support, Marketing, PR) to provide the best ultra-fast delivery experience, and with technical and support functions (Training and Compliance, Product, Engineering, IT, Facilities, Finance, HR, Supply Chain) to drive a highly efficient operation and ultimately have direct impact on Prime Air’s north star goal of delivering packages to customers via drone.

Key job responsibilities
• Mentors and develops leaders and staff. Assigns tasks, creates staffing plan, and oversees all HC and HR related activities. They are able to develop and coach team members. Defines and establishes performance expectations of the team that are aligned with Amazon role guidelines.
• Evaluates performance of team members and assess growth opportunities and opportunities for improvement.
• Obtains feedback from the team and develop action plans to address areas of concern
• Establishes objectives and owns metrics for safety, quality, productivity, and customer experience.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and adherence to process and procedures across the operation.
• Sets clear goals and expectations for the operations. Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds leaders accountable to execute to business goals.
• Understand capacity and hours-management and is able to drive an effective and efficient operation to meet goals.
• Leads stand-ups and review meetings with the team. Participates and contributes to program- level activities; represents site in commercial business reviews. Translates operational execution details for all audiences and the ability to summarize data for higher-level reviews.
• Participates in recruiting to identify and evaluate associates and internal/external candidates for promotion and hire.
• Works closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Maintenance Engineering, Flight Operations, Safety, IT and other leaders) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.
• Works closely with customer support, program and product teams to improve customer experience and test/ launch new initiatives. Partner with PA SMEs, providing upward feedback and observations that aid forward-progress in the site and beyond.
• Holds strong written and verbal communication skills, and a diversity of experience internal and/or external to Amazon that aids them in Thinking Big.
• Consistently demonstrates the ability to anticipate looming program- wide issues, see around corners, and able to develop proactive plans to address them.
• Owns and delivers the operational budget for functional areas, including safety, productivity, financial and labor planning, and operational goals for outbound/ inbound operations.
• Owns facility and security related activities for their site in conjunction with PA supporting functions.
• Drives continuous improvement projects to optimize operations and improve productivity to meet and exceed business objectives.

Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, leading in a manufacturing, production, distribution, or logistics environment.
• Demonstrated success analyzing performance metrics, implementing process improvements, and applying Lean methodologies.
• Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations.
• Candidates must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to navigate changing priorities and utilize judgment in demanding situations.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and coach others to achieve career aspirations while meeting business needs.
• Willingness and ability to train as a drone operator and adhere to standards

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in Engineering, Operations or related technical field- preferred.
• Part 107 certified with prior experience in the drone/ aerospace industry- preferred.
